Good day, my dears,

August is turning out to be another lovely month! I'm officially 32 years old now, and I'm grateful that each year is better than the last for me. I've been busy working on artwork, applying and vending at markets, and enjoying the summer.

Markets:

This month I've been to a new market, and I'll be attending more as well. Last weekend I attended the 13th annual Art of Disabilities Festival. It was a lovely event, the volunteers were incredibly helpful and supportive. I made some new connections with some lovely and endearing artists. I plan on attending again next year if possible!

As for this weekend, I'll be vending at the Eastern Shore Pride Market at Musquodoboit Harbour. I'm excited for this market as it's another Pride market, and it'll be my first outdoor market. This'll be a great way to see if I enjoy outdoor markets and if I'll want to invest in a tent and other things for vending outdoors.

I'll be back at the Funky Flea Market on Sunday August 24th hopefully. I took a small break from Funky Flea Market so I can make sure I still have time to enjoy my summer and not burn myself out. So far, it's felt like a good decision and I'm looking forward to being back there and seeing everyone I've gotten to know!

New Pieces:

I finally invested in a printer and it's been so liberating! I'm able to make my own prints and I love it! It's been motivating me to continue working on pieces. So far I have all but the final Feminine Pride Jellyfish piece completed. Each are available as large prints, and I will have stickers available of each in the future.

Future Plans:

I'm still working on my set of Plant Spirit Feminine Pride pieces. I'll have several sets, one without clothes, one with clothes, and headshots of them. These I plan on painting with watercolours and then creating prints of. I really love the idea of having different Feminine Pride sets showcasing the variety of art I use with my creations.

I'm still considering changing the name of Feminine Pride to something that is more inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ Community. I want to have pieces that honour Nonbinary people, but I don't want people to assume that Nonbinary is woman-adjacent. No matter what, I want to ensure that these pieces bring healing and empowerment to those who have survived SA and abuse, and that includes people that aren't women.

And of course, I'm still working away on scalemail and chainmail pieces. I plan on getting myself a new set of pliers as a birthday gift from my Mom. She's been so incredibly supportive and encouraging. I couldn't wish for a better Mom honestly. (If you're reading this, Hi, Mom! I love you!) So expect to see more creations to come!

With that, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who's shown so much incredible support and encouragement. You've each helped motivate and inspire me to keep on creating. Remember why you create artwork, and create for yourself, as well as for others.

Much love,

Katherine
