Happy Pride Parade/March Tomorrow!

Good day, my dears,

Tomorrow is the Pride Parade in Halifax, NS! In honour of the Parade & March, I want to say a few things:

May you all know that no matter what your unique journey is along your path of self-discovery, you are valid and you deserve to celebrate just how far you've come! Pride was originally a March, not a Parade. We still have very far to go, from maintaining our rights we fought, died, and won, to making sure Pride is inclusive to all within the LGBTQIA+ Community.

Ace people - you deserve to feel welcome at Pride! Sexual freedom and sexual expression includes you too. You deserve to be free to know who you are, and not feel pressured to be anyone other than the beautiful self that you are! 

Bi & Pan People - You deserve to be at Pride! No matter if you're single or with any gender of a partner(s)! You deserve to feel safe and included bringing your partners with you. Just because you may appear straight-passing, does not mean you should be treated as if you are straight. 

We do NOT police at Pride! 

We no NOT say who is or isn't Queer enough to attend Pride!

We do NOT say who someone's sexuality or gender is!

We do NOT Gatekeep the Queer community! (Looking at you, fellow Lesbians that show bi/pan/trans phobia with their "GoldStar Lesbian" label)

We celebrate and support one another for how far we've come! We help each other remember what it's like to be accepted and loved for the beautiful and unique person that we each are. We love each other, remembering that there are some of us that have been abandoned by family, by loved ones, for simply honouring who we are and who we love. You deserve to be loved, to be accepted, and to be welcomed as apart of the LGBTQIA+ Community, and that includes at Pride events!
