June 2025 Update
Good day, my dears,
Happy Pride Month! I have exciting news and updates to share with all of you!
It's been admittedly a bit since I've given some monthly updates and I apologize for that. I'm finally settling in to my new job, and have a good routine going in regards to my down time. I'm really happy with how my life has been since leaving my previous workplace. I'm excited to see where life goes, personally and art wise!
Markets!
I've been applying for markets now that I have a good idea of what I want to sell, and I have a good routine. I am very excited to say I've been accepted to be a vendor at the Rainbow Vision Market. This is a huge opportunity for me, the largest market I'll have been apart of, and its for the LGBTQIA+ community and celebrating the beginning of Pride in NS. Pride is celebrated and honoured in July in Nova Scotia, to honour the first official Pride Parade July 1st 1988.
* If you want to learn more about the History of Pride in Canada, you can find Part 1 here, and Part 2 here. Part 3 will be released in the future.
As of Sunday June 1st, I am officially selling my artwork at the Funky Flea Market in Halifax! My first market Sunday was fantastic. I had some lovely table neighbours, we were supporting and encouraging one another, as well as helping out if possible. I did sell enough to make a profit and almost cover the table fees for next Sunday, June 8th.
Feminine Pride Pieces:
One thing I'm delighted to say I've been working on as spring changes to summer is Feminine Pride pieces. I've created designs for pieces based off of different plants and flowers. I love being able to connect the beauty we see in nature to our own figures, interconnecting our own love and joy from one to the other. I plan on creating Safe For Work pieces, having them available as prints and stickers. Some of the plants these pieces are based off of are magnolias, dandelions, pitcher plants, and sundews. They're a mixture of delicate flowers and carnivorous plants.
Future Jewelry and More:
I've been busy planning and designing different chainmail and scalemail jewelry, and more! I will have the chainmail hearts available on my Ko-fi shop soon. I will also be adding LGBTQIA+ chainmail earrings as well. I want to design matching sets of bracelets and necklaces to go with the earrings. Not to forget, I have spikes to turn into fun, angsty, and alluring jewelry as well! So many different ideas on the go!
Wrap Up:
I'm honestly really happy with how my life is going right now. It's moving smoothly. I'm excited and grateful to see how my life has progressed, how I've grown, and how I continue to challenge myself and connect with loved ones, new and old.
I can't wait to share what I have to create in time to come!
Much love,
Katherine
